We will provide the balloons on the 24 hours distance flight with a unit that allows realtime tracking. The tracks of the balloons will be shown on this MAP. At the moment you can see there the track of a flight with our balloon D-OSTZ to France in January. We will delete this track after the launch of the competition.
How works the tracking? The unit contains a gps receiver, and an inmarsat transceiver. The position it gets from the gps will be sent to an inmarsat satellite, and from there to earth. Finalliy, SATPRO made the map using google maps. We get our units from the SEHA-GmbH.
